Shipping policy
Thanks for shopping with The Boardroom. We're a small New Zealand business and ship every order ourselves from New Zealand. If you have any questions, email us at hello@theboardroom.co.nz. We're happy to help.
Processing times
- Orders are usually dispatched within 1–3 business days (Monday–Friday, excluding NZ public holidays). Most in-stock orders go out the next business day.
- We ship from two locations in New Zealand. If your order includes items from both, it may arrive in more than one parcel, at no extra cost to you.
- If an item is unexpectedly out of stock, we'll contact you straight away with options: wait, swap, or get a full refund.
Shipping within New Zealand
- We ship with NZ Post tracked courier. A tracking number is emailed to you when your order is dispatched.
- Free shipping on orders over $150 NZD.
- Orders under $150 are charged a flat rate based on weight. The exact cost is shown at checkout.
- Estimated delivery after dispatch: 1–3 business days for most addresses, and up to 2–3 extra days for rural delivery.
- We can deliver to PO Boxes and Parcel Collect points. Longboards and larger parcels may not fit some lockers.
International shipping
We ship worldwide. Rates are based on the total weight of your order and are shown at checkout.
- Australia: choose Standard (tracked) or Economy (untracked).
- Rest of the world: tracked international shipping for orders up to 6 kg. For heavier orders, or a destination not offered at checkout, email us for a quote.
- Estimated delivery after dispatch: Australia 3–10 business days, rest of the world 6–20 business days. Customs processing can add more time, and that is outside our control.
- Untracked (Economy) parcels can't be traced once they leave New Zealand, so we can't investigate or replace untracked parcels reported as lost. For boards and higher-value orders, we strongly recommend tracked shipping.
Customs, duties and import taxes
International orders are shipped Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU/DAP). Our prices and shipping charges do not include your country's import duties, taxes (such as VAT, GST or IVA), or the clearance or handling fees charged by your local postal service or courier. These charges are set by your country, not by us, and they are the responsibility of the recipient.
- Your local carrier (for example Correos in Spain, Royal Mail in the UK, or USPS in the US) may contact you by email, SMS or card to pay these charges and/or submit clearance details before your parcel is released. Please watch for this notice and act on it promptly.
- Customs rules and thresholds differ by country and change from time to time. We recommend checking with your local customs authority before you order. For example, all goods imported into the EU are subject to VAT, and goods over €150 go through full customs clearance.
- We declare the true value of every order on the customs form. We cannot mark orders as a "gift" or under-declare their value.
- We're happy to provide a commercial invoice or any other paperwork your customs office asks for. Just email us.
Refused or unclaimed parcels: if a parcel is refused, or isn't collected because duties or taxes weren't paid, it will be returned to us or may be destroyed by customs. For parcels returned to us, we'll refund the value of the goods, minus the original shipping cost and any return shipping or charges we're billed. We can't refund duties or taxes you've paid to your own country's customs.
Tracking, delays and lost parcels
- Once your order is dispatched, you'll get an email with your tracking link. You can also check your order status in your account.
- If your tracking hasn't updated for 7 business days (NZ) or 15 business days (international), email us and we'll open an investigation with the carrier.
- If a tracked parcel is confirmed lost in transit, we'll send a replacement or give you a full refund.
Address accuracy
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. If you spot a mistake, email us as soon as possible. We can update the address if the order hasn't been dispatched yet. We're not responsible for parcels sent to an incorrect address supplied at checkout. If a parcel is returned to us because of an address error, we'll re-send it once the extra shipping cost has been paid.
Damaged parcels
If your parcel arrives damaged, please take photos of the packaging and the item, and email us within 48 hours of delivery. We'll sort it out with you and the carrier.
Your rights
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or any consumer law that applies in your country.
